Xiaoliuqiu Tide Table

30-day tide table for Xiaoliuqiu, including today's and tomorrow's high and low tide times, heights, tidal range and wave conditions from Taiwan CWA.

How to use
  1. Pick a location — Choose a coastal spot from the dropdown above, or go straight to /tide/location-slug for that spot's own page (e.g. Gaomei Wetlands, Longdong, Jinzun).
  2. Read the tide cards — High tide and low tide times and heights are the first thing to check — they decide whether it's safe to go into the water, walk the tidal flats, or surf.
  3. Check the location-specific notes — Things like the Gaomei boardwalk's opening hours, a dive spot's slack-water window, or surf conditions only appear on that location's own page — scroll down after switching locations.
FAQ

Should I dive on a rising or falling tide?

What matters is slack water, not rising vs falling — the current is weakest around high and low tide, which is best for shore diving and snorkelling. Mid-tide has the strongest, most dangerous current. Match your entry to that day’s tide times and aim for the slack window.

How do I know the best time to get in today?

Check today’s high and low tide times on this page; the roughly 1-hour window around each turning point is slack water with the weakest current. Still confirm the day’s wind, swell, visibility and weather, and defer to your dive shop and on-site notices.

Where are officially confirmed rinsing and lockers on Xiaoliuqiu?

Liuchiu Ocean Station provides both, Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–17:00. It is not a dive entry and closes Mondays and national holidays.

Slack Water & Best Times to Get In (Diving / Snorkelling)

Shore diving and snorkelling are safest — and usually clearest — at slack water: the window around high and low tide when the current turns and runs weakest. Mid-tide is when the current is strongest and least suitable for getting in.

Below are estimated slack windows of about 1 hour around each high and low tide today. Actual current, swell and visibility still depend on wind, terrain and weather.

Verified access, entry and facilities

Only official or owner-confirmed information is shown. Unverified drafts stay off the page. Check same-day notices and on-site controls before departure.

Getting there with equipment

  • Liuchiu Ocean Station at No. 5-10 Zhongshan Road has parking, but it is an education and support site—not a universal island entry. Confirm the actual dive site before moving gear there. Official source

Water entry and exit

  • Most waters within 200 metres seaward of Xiaoliuqiu’s high-tide line are an aquatic propagation conservation area. Observation is allowed, but hand collection and habitat damage are prohibited. Official source

Rinsing, parking and facilities

  • Liuchiu Ocean Station provides rinsing, lockers, an accessible toilet and drinking water, Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–17:00; it closes Mondays and national holidays. Official source
  • The station also offers parking and marine-safety information, but facility access follows opening hours. Do not assume rinsing or storage for dawn, night or closure-day dives. Official source

Rules and ecological care

  • Keep at least five metres from green turtles: do not touch, disturb, chase or surround them. Observe quietly and never alter a turtle’s route for a photograph. Official source
  • Intertidal demonstration zones such as Shanfu, Yuchengwei and Duzaiping have separate guide, closure and capacity rules. A shore dive does not authorize crossing their controlled routes. Official source
