Longdong Bay Tide Table

30-day tide table for Longdong Bay, including today's and tomorrow's high and low tide times, heights, tidal range and wave conditions from Taiwan CWA.

How to use
  1. Pick a location — Choose a coastal spot from the dropdown above, or go straight to /tide/location-slug for that spot's own page (e.g. Gaomei Wetlands, Longdong, Jinzun).
  2. Read the tide cards — High tide and low tide times and heights are the first thing to check — they decide whether it's safe to go into the water, walk the tidal flats, or surf.
  3. Check the location-specific notes — Things like the Gaomei boardwalk's opening hours, a dive spot's slack-water window, or surf conditions only appear on that location's own page — scroll down after switching locations.
FAQ

Should I dive on a rising or falling tide?

What matters is slack water, not rising vs falling — the current is weakest around high and low tide, which is best for shore diving and snorkelling. Mid-tide has the strongest, most dangerous current. Match your entry to that day’s tide times and aim for the slack window.

How do I know the best time to get in today?

Check today’s high and low tide times on this page; the roughly 1-hour window around each turning point is slack water with the weakest current. Still confirm the day’s wind, swell, visibility and weather, and defer to your dive shop and on-site notices.

Is the water at Longdong Bay Ocean Park open today?

Check the operator’s same-day notice. Official information says opening and admission vary, and seaside water activities are explicitly discouraged during the October–March long-wave season.

Slack Water & Best Times to Get In (Diving / Snorkelling)

Shore diving and snorkelling are safest — and usually clearest — at slack water: the window around high and low tide when the current turns and runs weakest. Mid-tide is when the current is strongest and least suitable for getting in.

Below are estimated slack windows of about 1 hour around each high and low tide today. Actual current, swell and visibility still depend on wind, terrain and weather.

Verified access, entry and facilities

Only official or owner-confirmed information is shown. Unverified drafts stay off the page. Check same-day notices and on-site controls before departure.

Getting there with equipment

  • Longdong Bay Ocean Park dive service area is at No. 63-8 Longdong Street. Opening and admission are posted dynamically, so check the operator on the day before arriving with equipment rather than relying on a map status. Official source
  • For public transport with gear, alight at Longdong Bay Ocean Park. Official information lists routes 856, 791, 886, F837, F839 and the holiday coastal line; confirm timetables and equipment rules with the operator. Official source

Water entry and exit

  • The managed water access described officially is inside the ocean park: its marine activity area, natural seawater pool and dive service zone. Do not treat adjacent rocky shores or the controlled geopark coast as the same free entry. Official source
  • Long-period waves are common during the northeast monsoon from October through March, and the authority explicitly advises against seaside recreation. An open land area does not mean the water is open. Official source

Rinsing, parking and facilities

  • Official park facilities include parking, toilets, an accessible toilet and accessible parking. These are park services and remain subject to the day’s opening and admission notice. Official source
  • The Northeast Coast administration’s green-travel guide specifically points divers to equipment-rinsing services at nearby businesses. This is not a guaranteed free public facility, so confirm with the shop first. Official source

Rules and ecological care

  • The park is an ecological restoration zone and prohibits nets and harvesting tools. Keep the dive observational: do not collect, chase or remove marine life from its habitat. Official source
  • The Bitou–Longdong Geopark coastal line is currently controlled and requires prior approval from the administration. Admission to the dive service area is not permission to enter that coast. Official source
