Doufujiao Tide Table

30-day tide table for Doufujiao, including today's and tomorrow's high and low tide times, heights, tidal range and wave conditions from Taiwan CWA.

How to use
  1. Pick a location — Choose a coastal spot from the dropdown above, or go straight to /tide/location-slug for that spot's own page (e.g. Gaomei Wetlands, Longdong, Jinzun).
  2. Read the tide cards — High tide and low tide times and heights are the first thing to check — they decide whether it's safe to go into the water, walk the tidal flats, or surf.
  3. Check the location-specific notes — Things like the Gaomei boardwalk's opening hours, a dive spot's slack-water window, or surf conditions only appear on that location's own page — scroll down after switching locations.
FAQ

Should I dive on a rising or falling tide?

What matters is slack water, not rising vs falling — the current is weakest around high and low tide, which is best for shore diving and snorkelling. Mid-tide has the strongest, most dangerous current. Match your entry to that day’s tide times and aim for the slack window.

How do I know the best time to get in today?

Check today’s high and low tide times on this page; the roughly 1-hour window around each turning point is slack water with the weakest current. Still confirm the day’s wind, swell, visibility and weather, and defer to your dive shop and on-site notices.

Does year-round access mean night diving is allowed at Tofu Cape?

No. The official page separately warns that the site is unattended and night entry should be avoided. Verify current rules and lawful local supervision for any night activity.

Slack Water & Best Times to Get In (Diving / Snorkelling)

Shore diving and snorkelling are safest — and usually clearest — at slack water: the window around high and low tide when the current turns and runs weakest. Mid-tide is when the current is strongest and least suitable for getting in.

Below are estimated slack windows of about 1 hour around each high and low tide today. Actual current, swell and visibility still depend on wind, terrain and weather.

Verified access, entry and facilities

Only official or owner-confirmed information is shown. Unverified drafts stay off the page. Check same-day notices and on-site controls before departure.

Getting there with equipment

  • Tofu Cape Recreation Area is south of Nanfangao Harbor and officially provides parking and toilets. Bring dive gear through the recreation-area lot rather than unloading beside the harbor channel. Official source
  • Without a car, transfer from Suao New Station or Suao bus terminal, or use G28/1879 to Nanfangao. Confirm carriage of bulky dive gear with the bus operator first. Official source

Water entry and exit

  • The official page confirms scuba and SUP but asks visitors to use a coach familiar with local land and water. “Open year-round” describes site access, not safe entry in every sea state. Official source
  • The bay contains block-like reefs and a coastal path, and the authority says to avoid deep and dangerous zones. Choose entries from on-site notices rather than crossing an unverified reef gap. Official source

Rinsing, parking and facilities

  • Official facilities list only parking and toilets. Plan toilet use here, but the published information does not promise gear rinsing, lockers or tank storage. Official source

Rules and ecological care

  • There is no resident site manager, and the authority explicitly says to avoid entering at night. Do not infer night-diving permission from year-round land access; verify rules and lawful supervision. Official source
  • For scuba or SUP, read on-site notices and assess ability first. Without a coach familiar with Tofu Cape’s terrain and water, do not independently explore deep zones. Official source
