Fish feeding activity tracks the moon and the tides. Using solunar theory, this page combines the moon phase, lunar transit times and real tide data to find the best times to cast today.
Solunar theory holds that fish are most active for about an hour around the lunar transit (moon overhead or underfoot) — the major periods — and around moonrise and moonset — the minor periods. Activity peaks near new and full moons, and moving water around high/low tide also triggers feeding. Real results still depend on weather, water temperature and terrain.
