Changbin

Changhua's open coast can pair intertidal water with industrial silhouettes for distinctive sunset reflections.

Working tide estimate 0.6–1.25m: the lower edge uses a recent 30-day low and keeps the prior band width; annual extremes and field depth remain unverified | Faces about 270°

Sites with complete data rank first, then by reflection score. Tide windows are estimated from local conditions; field safety and local controls still come first.

Field notes

Rules vary around Changbin’s industrial roads; park legally, keep clear of facilities and risky seawalls, and stay on main roads after dark.

Strong winter monsoon winds often roughen the water; choose a light-wind evening with cloud breaks and a low-in-band tide.

Use the industrial line or seawall as a level reference, keeping the reflection without treating the plant as a foreground.

Spring tides usually occur near new and full moon and have the largest tidal range; mid and neap tides have progressively smaller ranges.

How to use

  1. Pick a location — Choose a coastal spot from the dropdown above, or go straight to /tide/location-slug for that spot's own page (e.g. Gaomei Wetlands, Longdong, Jinzun).
  2. Read the tide cards — High tide and low tide times and heights are the first thing to check — they decide whether it's safe to go into the water, walk the tidal flats, or surf.
  3. Check the location-specific notes — Things like the Gaomei boardwalk's opening hours, a dive spot's slack-water window, or surf conditions only appear on that location's own page — scroll down after switching locations.
